Fishing Tournament Rules & Agenda:
8 AM- Check-in/registration at Hawk Island
8:15-11 AM- Fishing time allowed.
Fishing is permitted off all banks, personal yards and personal boats.
No fishing permitted off any docks.
Bass fish competition only.
No gas motors on the lagoon.
You may keep your bass that are 12-15″, otherwise release after measuring.
No fishing off bridges or sidewalks allowed.
Prizes going to two categories 1-boat fishing and 2-fishing by land, with 3 prizes each.
The three prizes will go to, 1- funkiest catch (example, a boot or trash from the lagoon), 2- longest fish and 3-biggest fish by weight. 6 prizes total.
Please line up to check in no later than 11:15 AM sharp for judging. The judging table will be set up at the Lakewood Amenity. This table will be ready with a ruler and a scale for those who have a live well to keep their fish in, until judging. If you do not have a live well to keep your fish in, you need to supply your own scale or ruler and take a photo with your fish including a time and date stamp on it to bring to the judging table.
Prizes include: Gift cards to Marker 107, gift cards to West Marine and Bass Pro Shops and finally 3 different brand new fishing poles from Bass Pro Shop as well. Prizes will be announced immediately after judging at 12 PM. 12:15 PM is the start of the Grand Opening celebration of the Lakewood Amenity.
The Buhajla family is doing a $100 raffle prize for those who bring in trash from the water ways during the event. Each piece of trash earns you a raffle ticket.
All drinks and appetizers provided at the fishing tournament and after party will be served with a suggested donation to Val’s Village. A donation is not required to attend, but very appreciated.
