Savannah area community adds three new neighborhoods, an immense lagoon expansion, construction of a fitness facility and the WaterWays Marina Village Richmond Hill, Ga. (October 9, 2017) – WaterWays Township, a 2,300-acre master-planned community in South Bryan County, begins its most ambitious expansion since its opening in 2011.
Prompted by the significant interest in Coastal Georgia from those looking to retire near the water, managing partner and developer Fletcher Davis commenced construction of the deepwater marina earlier this year. With the marina under construction, WaterWays responded to the growing demand for new homes by releasing the sixth phase of its ever-popular cottage neighborhood, RidgeWood Park, and 50 out of the 53 lots were placed under contract in a one day sales event.
With this confirmed desire for further development, WaterWays launches three new residential neighborhoods, adding a total of 227 new residential home sites. The Enclave and Parkway South, available in November 2017, will provide 77 new custom home sites that feature lagoon frontage as well as wooded and preserved locations. Lakewood, available in late Spring 2018, will include 150 new home sites offering convenient access to an interior park as well as a lakefront amenity center on Grand Lagoon.
In addition to the delivery of new residential home sites, WaterWays has initiated the expansion of its three-and-a-half mile freshwater lake, Grand Lagoon, by 35 percent. To accommodate the ever-growing desire for exercise amenities, WaterWays has also commenced construction on the WaterClub West Fitness Facility, expected to open in December 2017.
The jewel of this current phase of expansion is the WaterWays Marina Village, a mixed-use neighborhood near the WaterWays Township Marina, which will feature a charming selection of boutique retail and dining concepts, fresh water boat slips and the community’s River Club. The River Club will serve as a gathering place for residents and is planned to include a spacious facility for special events and weddings, a full-service fitness facility, a comfortable community dining room, swimming pools, events lawns and more. The initial phase of development for Marina Village is scheduled for Summer 2018.
“This is truly an exciting time for our WaterWays community, especially for our residents,” says Douglas Davis, CEO of Fletcher Davis. “The positive response and growth that we are experiencing has allowed us to move forward on delivering even more of our vision for this special place. With our new Marina Village plan, we are positioning WaterWays as one of the premier waterfront communities in the Southeast.”
